A highlight of the holiday season - this is over-the-top fun! Spread across multiple exhibition spaces at Navy Pier, this place is huge. There is so much to do. Our kid does laps around this place - stopping at all his favorite attractions over and over again. Go at off times if you can - the weekend is a zoo.
We do not miss this annual event. My kindergartner and I were at Winter WonderFest for almost six hours on Tuesday, December 23rd. The lines were short, the rides were great (for a five-year old) and the scenery was spectacular. A lot of staff worked tirelessly to keep the floor clean for kids running around in socks.
This is a great family event - the kids love it and the parents have fun too. Last year the grandparents went and they loved it too. It is also a great opportunity for groups to perform and my daughter is dancing there again this year. A perfect day.
We have taken our daughter to this event for the last three years. She loves it. Mid-week if you can swing it is the best time to go to avoid school groups and holiday vacations. Adults should bring a light sweater or jacket as the ice rink keeps the temperature down. However, kids won't need one since they will be running around having a blast.
