This huge community park is 29 acres large and located ½ Mile South of Main Street on Route 31 right alongside the Fox River.
The park is most commonly referred to as the “Sculpture Park†since it annually features large art sculptures scattered throughout the park near the vast walking paths. This is done as part of a joint project between the St. Charles Park District and the Sculpture in the Park Committee of the Downtown St. Charles to raise awareness of the sculptural arts and the beautiful parks in downtown St. Charles.
There are plenty of benches and picnic tables along the paths. They even offer Pavilion Rentals for $50.

This is a fantastic park. It really has it all. There is a fenced in area for skating ramps (skateboards or rollerblades), bleachers, tennis courts, a huge soft ground playset for young and older kids to enjoy, extensive walking paths throughout and random pieces of art to keep everyone asking “what is that?â€. In addition, the park is right up against the river making the walking paths even more enjoyable. The park is mostly all grassy area (not trees) and it is very well kept so you can easily venture off the walking paths.
Parents will not be disappointed. You can spend several hours here on any non-rainy day. For those with youngsters, they can easily spend a lot of time trying to overtake the huge playset and multiple slides (one is 3 stories tall). You can go for a walk around the park and look at many of the art pieces and finish off the trip by watching some of the teenagers showing off while on the enclosed skateboard ramps and half and quarter pipes.
This park is terrific. If you live within 30 minutes of it or if you’ve been debating a trip to the St. Charles/Geneva area, this is a great destination to include in your plans. It’s comparable to Geneva’s Wheeler park, but has an advantage in my book due to the river and 3 story slide.
