"Earth" by Disney Nature is another Disney movie that does not disappoint. Audiences of all ages will enjoy this awe-inspiring trek across the planet, through all of its elements, as seen through the eyes of the creatures that inhabit it.
The main storyline follows the journey of a polar bear family, a humpback whale family and an elephant family as they attempt to move across the planet in search of food and safety. In between our visits with these families, we meet many creatures and visit places that give us a greater idea of how the planet functions as a whole. From wolves to penguins, from deserts to glaciers, and everyone and everywhere in between, this is an all-encompassing look at our amazing planet.
This remarkable film is narrated by James Earl Jones, whose voice only adds to the gradeur and mysteriousness that this film portrays. Also, this is a film that was created for a mass audience - and as the mother of a three year old, I would definitely say it met the mark. It was suitable for toddlers, and the octagenarians in the theatre also left mesmerized. Keep in mind, however, that this is a story about the circle of life on our planet. The food chain was definitely a topic. There were scenes of conquest and starvation. However, all of these serious topics were handled tactfully, making them appropriate for all ages. The themes were illuded to more than shown on the screen.
I truly enjoyed this look at our planet from the big screen, and look forward to Disney Nature's next project.
