I don't think I got Cooties as a kid and I don't think I get it now. Is it a game or is it just an excuse to dress up funny looking bugs. Though there is some humor that my kid has named the different Cooties after his relatives, I don't get this game. That being said, my kid does like to put the different insects together and he has named them: Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa, his name, and other of our family members

This is a good game for preschool age children. It promotes hand coordination, sequencing, and matching. The children have to put the pieces together head, body, legs, accessory, this sequencing is a hard skill to master for early childhood aged children. Matching the colors and making sure you have all the parts is also a skill they are developing. Its great to have the kids put all the like pieces in one pile (legs, body parts, heads, accessories, etc.). This helps them with the matching and organization skills. When I taught in a Montessori early childhood program (3-6 year olds) this game was a staple in the summer program. The kids loved it and it also taught them how to work together to build a cootie. I recommend this game for young children around 3 and 4 years of age.
