With ESPN Better Batter™ Baseball, kids keep their eye where it should be when they're learning to bat—on the ball, not the tee! This batting trainer's innovative tee-free design makes learning to hit the baseball fun and easy. The mechanical arm drops down, picks up a baseball, then raises right back to position! Sound effects, baseball “chatter†and ESPN music make this batter better than the rest! The baseball trainer's height is adjustable for peewees to preschool pros. Includes bat and 3 baseballs.
I just figured a tee-ball set was a tee-ball set. How wrong I was. The ESPN Batter Trainer is fun and educational. You tap your bat on the home plate at the base of the machine and the mechanical arm reaches down and presents the ball to the batter. The ball is made of a kind of velcro material and the arm hangs the ball instead of a regular tee that supports a ball sitting on it.
The bat is helping my kid hit better. You still have to be careful not to hit the machine like you would with a regular tee, but it seems to happen less. You do need to make sure its adjusted to the right height.
The audio part of it is really fun and the kids get excited about all of the cheering and baseball chatter.
My son got this for his 2nd birthday and loved it. He loves stepping on the plate and watching the arm get the ball for him. He loves the sound effects and saying "knock it out of the park" and "swing batter batter swing batter." It is really fun to watch how excited he gets when he hits the ball. At times the velcro that holds the ball on the arm holds a little to tight making it very difficult to knock the ball free. Overall this is a great toy for my family to play with together. This holds my sons attention for a long time.
Great item. My 3yr old son and 7 year old daughter love it. Make sure to try and bring inside. Once the baseballs get wet it affects them sticking to the velcro. Also, the plastic piece that drops down to pick up the baseball can bend when left outside.
Better for kids under 6 since the height maxes out and makes it tough to hit correctly.
