Nerf came out with awesome set of toy weapons in September. They have used their classic cushy materials for the bullets and created a whole line of weaponry including pistols, rifles, snipers, and machine guns.

Nerf has also created a set of accessories with the new toys including dart tag (velcro darts stick to a vest), target practice (velcro darts stick to a dart board), and capture the flag (an electronic item makes a loud siren sound when picked up by the other team).

Whichever version you choose, these toys are a real blast. We bought the Maverick which is like an automatic toy hand gun that you need to pull back before you shoot it, just like Bruce Willis in Diehard.

We also bought the CS-35 Raider which can store up to 35 nerf missles at once and shoot in a rapid fire sequence or one at a time.

My five year old had no problem operating the Raider which is about 1.5 feet long and needs to be pumped to make work. The Maverick was a little too much muscle for him.

We play a lot of different games with the guns, hiding behind couches, chairs, and beds and neither of them shoot hard enough to hurt anything but we do wear goggles when we play. Buy lots of reload bullets because you never seem to find all of the ones you lost.
