The series follows the adventures of teenage child prodigy Tony Stark, and his alter ego of Iron Man, as he uses his technological inventions to stop villains such as Mandarin and Unicorn. His friends, Jim 'Rhodey' Rhodes and Pepper Potts help him on his courageous, and dangerous adventures.
Ever since we saw a trailer for the new Iron Man animated series we have been anxiously awaiting the new cartoon. The wait was extremely well worth it. The series, which is on Nicktoons, on Fridays, was the highest rated premier for Nicktoons of all time.
Like what they did with Spectacular Spiderman, this cartoon follows a teenage Tony Stark. His father has just died and Tony wants to find the killers by using his newest invention, the Iron Man suit. In this incarnation, which obviously has no parallels to the comic book or the movie, Tony Stark is more than just a genius, he is a genius of geniuses. He already owns many different patents and wants to fight bad guys with his favorite new invention.
The animation is really fantastic and the action is great. In the first show, showed Iron Man catching an elevated train before hitting the ground. The flying is really great and replusor rays are lethal. His friends, Rhodes and Pepper are teenagers as well and even the Mandarin is a teenager. By making everyone a teenager, the kids seem to be more interested in the movies because they feel closer.
Iron Man: Armored Adventures is a wild ride, plenty of action and Tony Stark is as wisecracking as Spiderman, very unlike any other portrayal of Tony Stark except the movie with Downey. The characters are good and they really took animation to the next level. If your kid like superheroes, don't miss this show.
